We are glad to inform that Alice Salumets, attorney-at-law at Rödl & Partner Advokaadibüroo OÜ, was elected member of the professional suitability assessment committee of the Estonian Bar Association.

The professional suitability assessment committee of the Bar Association is formed for a term of five years and consists of eleven members. The professional suitability assessment committee consists of six sworn advocates appointed by the Board of the Bar Association and two substitute members thereof, two judges elected by the Court en banc and two substitute members thereof, a representative of the Ministry of Justice appointed by the minister responsible for the area and a substitute member thereof, a public prosecutor elected by the Prosecutors’ Assembly and a substitute member thereof, and a jurist appointed by the council of the Law Faculty of the University of Tartu and a substitute member thereof.

The tasks of the professional suitability assessment committee comprise examining persons who apply for admission to the Bar Association or for qualification as sworn advocates, carrying out an aptitude test for professional qualification acquired in a foreign state and assessing the professional suitability of an advocate periodically or at the request of the Board.
