Tehran, 25/11/2016. The German international professional services firm Rödl & Partner continues its expansion, opening its own office in the centre of Tehran, the capital of Iran. Its global presence thus stretches from China all the way to Brazil in almost 50 countries. Supporting primarily European family-owned companies looking to set up business in Iran, Rödl & Partner offers accounting, audit, tax, legal and management and IT consulting. Additionally, the Nuremberg headquartered firm has established a strong corporate finance team in Tehran, collaborating with specialised local partners.

„With the lifting of a significant part of the international sanctions, Rödl & Partner has been witnessing a steady increase in demand for one-stop-shop professional services” says Dr. José Campos Nave, Managing Partner in charge of the Middle East and Africa.

The Rödl & Partner team in Iran is working with a large number of European clients on structuring their legal setup and subsequently providing comprehensive accounting, payroll and IFRS audit services, as well as assisting with other matters like the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Act (FIPPA).

The Tehran corporate finance practice, led by Co-CEOs Iran Björn Stübiger and Holger Heims, has a strong focus on Iranian companies looking for assistance in a variety of financial matters abroad. It specialises in providing M&A and transaction services, including due diligence, for local joint ventures between leading European and Iranian companies.

„Given the ongoing changes in Iran´s tax and customs regime and the continuing difficulties surrounding financing and the transfer of funds, we are well positioned to help our clients successfully navigate these waters“ says Campos Nave. Rödl & Partner will continue to build up its Iranian and international staff in Tehran, engaging an Italian lawyer from January 2017 onwards to cater to increasing demand from a diverse Italian client base.

A sector with particularly strong interest from foreign investors since the signing of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is renewable energy, where Rödl & Partner has an extensive track record with leading photovoltaic and wind energy companies from across Europe, many of whom are now also entering the Iranian market.
