On June 9, 2026, the Mexican Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) published new administrative simplification measures affecting REPSE registration, renewals, and related procedures. The reform aims to reduce bureaucracy, eliminate unnecessary documentation requirements, and streamline compliance processes for companies providing specialized services in Mexico. For businesses operating under REPSE schemes, these changes may significantly reduce administrative burdens while maintaining existing compliance obligations.

STPS Simplifies Procedures and Eliminates Requirements

On June 9, 2026, an agreement was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (Diario Oficial de la Federación) through which the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) implements administrative simplification measures for various procedures, including those related to REPSE.

Among the most relevant changes is the elimination of several documents and requirements that were previously needed for:

  • REPSE registration;
  • Renewal of registration;
  • Cancellation of registration;
  • Various procedures related to providers of specialized services and specialized works.

The logic behind this reform is clear: to avoid requiring companies to submit information that authorities can already obtain through other means, and to reduce unnecessary bureaucratic costs.

 Why Is This Reform Important for Companies?

Administrative simplification goes beyond reducing paperwork, it translates into tangible benefits:

  • Shorter time to prepare documentation files
  • Reduction in administrative and compliance costs
  • Lower risk of documentary errors or omissions
  • Faster processes to maintain valid registrations
  • Greater focus on substantive compliance rather than formalities

For companies that rely on specialized outsourcing schemes, every day saved in administrative procedures represents a meaningful operational and business advantage.

 What Companies Should Not Overlook

While the reform eliminates several documentary requirements, it does not remove the underlying obligations derived from labor and specialized outsourcing regulations.

Companies must continue to ensure:

  • The proper provision of specialized services;
  • Compliance with labor and social security obligations;
  • Timely updates of their records before the authorities;
  • Proper documentation to demonstrate regulatory compliance when required.

Reducing requirements does not mean reducing responsibilities.

 What Are the Next Steps?

This reform represents a positive step toward a more efficient regulatory environment aligned with the Federal Government’s administrative simplification policies.

Companies holding a REPSE registration should immediately assess how these changes impact their internal processes, in order to take full advantage of the new simplifications and avoid continuing to request documentation that is no longer required.

The question is no longer whether labor compliance will continue to change.
The real question is: Is your company prepared to adapt ahead of its competitors?
