The Geis Group, an internationally active logistics service provider, is acquiring all shares of the Gras Group, which offers transport and logistics solutions in Germany. With this acquisition, the Geis Group strengthens its presence in economically significant regions and further expands its role in the IDS Logistics Network. All employees will be retained.
Hans Wolfgang Geis, Managing Partner of the Geis Group, comments on the reasons for the acquisition: “The locations of the Gras Group ideally complement our network and strengthen our position for further growth. At the same time, we can accommodate additional shipment volumes and contract logistics projects that sensibly complement our portfolio.” Jochen Geis, also a Managing Partner, adds: “As a family-run company, we stand for similar values and convictions. Therefore, we can offer the new employees of the Gras Group a reliable professional home.”
Madeleine Boos, Managing Partner of the Gras Group: “By selling to the Geis Group, we know that the future of the Gras Group and our employees are in the best hands.”
As part of the transaction, the Geis Group received comprehensive legal and tax advice from a specialized interdisciplinary transaction team at Rödl, led by attorney and partner Michael Wiehl. Rödl recently supported the Geis Group in the acquisition of the Quehenberger Group.
The transaction was approved by the Federal Cartel Office.
