Urgent need for corporate VNeID registration in 2026
From mid-2026, the registration and activation of a corporate VNeID account should be treated as an essential preparatory step for enterprises and organizations operating in Vietnam.
Centralization of national public service infrastructure
Under Official Letter No. 2570/BCA-TTDLQG of the Ministry of Public Security, the National Public Service Portal was officially transferred to and operated at the National Data Center from 29 May 2026. This transition indicates that the infrastructure for receiving, authenticating and processing administrative procedure data is being centralized, with the Ministry of Public Security playing a key role in the authentication process.
Shift from digital signatures to VNeID authentication
A major practical problem is that certain procedures no longer allow companies to log in using digital signatures or tokens as they did before. Instead, access may be required through the organization’s VNeID account. This may affect procedures relating to enterprises, foreign-owned enterprises, other organizations and commercial presences of foreign traders in Vietnam.
Risk of system access disruption without VNeID
The enterprises or organizations that have not registered and activated their corporate VNeID account may be unable to access the system at the login stage, even if their application dossiers and digital signatures are already available. This may delay routine procedures such as enterprise registration, investment procedures, licensing, labor, social insurance, tax and immigration-related matters.
Proactive steps for enterprises to ensure compliance
It is advisable for enterprises to proactively review their VNeID account status, identify the appropriate legal representative or authorized person who has a level-2 personal VNeID account, and complete the registration before any urgent filing need arises.
