Amendments to the Labour Code of the Republic of Lithuania, effective 1 January, include changes to Articles 248(2), 258, 33(4), and 147(1).

New restrictions on strike actions during mobilization, emergencies, or martial law have been introduced. Lockouts are prohibited in ambulance services and emergency zones or regions under declared mobilization, martial law, emergency, or public administration.

Article 147(1) now mandates default interest payment if wages or benefits are late due to the employer's fault before employment termination. The Minister of Social Security and Labour will set the interest rate annually based on the consumer price index. Default interest calculation stops upon employer bankruptcy declaration or initiation of out-of-court bankruptcy proceedings.
