On 7 November 2023, the Government through the Special Issue of Kenya Gazette Vol. CXXV-No. 239 increased charges for immigration and citizen services which triggered a lot of public reaction. Following this, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration through gazette notice Kenya Gazette Vol. CXXV-No. 241 dated 14 November 2023, revoked the earlier gazette notice, to allow for public participation which was conducted from 14 November 2023 to 5 December 2024.
