City Cycling 2022 – Donation for "bbs nürnberg" – Educational Centre For The Blind And Visually Impaired

In summer 2022, 112 colleagues took to their bikes again as part of the international CITY CYCLING campaign and covered 20,620 km together. For every kilometre covered, Rödl & Partner donated also this year 0.10 Euro to the Rödl Employee Fund for Children's Aid.

Supporting "bbs nürnberg" – Educational Centre For The Blind And Visually Impaired

The funds collected from cycling were once again doubled and donated to "bbs nürnberg". Blindenanstalt Nürnberg e.V. is a non-profit association and offers schooling and vocational training to blind and visually impaired people. In addition, the association provides support in starting a career and participating in social life.

With the donation received, Blindenanstalt Nürnberg e.V. can execute two heartfelt projects at once.

A part of the donation was used for the technical upgrade of the iPads in the primary school classrooms. To enable further use of the affected 135 devices, an urgently needed mobile device management system could be purchased. This was the only way that the school could continue to use these devices in class, from which the blind and visually impaired children clearly benefit.

The other part of the donation was used to purchase instruments, sound equipment and sheet music notebooks in Braille, because the students had long wanted to start a school band. We are very happy that these two projects can now become a reality thanks to sports spirit of our colleagues!

Last week, our colleague Freya Schwering and our colleague Holger Schröder, as sponsors, handed over the donation to Simone Podarewski, Managing Director of Blindenanstalt Nürnberg e.V..
