PrintMailRate-it
Malaysia and Singapore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop the JS-SEZ. This economic zone aims to strengthen economic connectivity between Johor and Singapore.

The JS-SEZ, adjacent to the Singaporean border, seeks to foster stronger business connections and to improve connectivity between the two countries. It draws inspiration from success stories like Shenzhen, a special economic zone in China.

Sectors targeted within the JS-SEZ include
  • electronics;
  • financial services;
  • business-related services; and
  • healthcare.

The goal is to enhance the business ecosystems of both the Iskandar Malaysia region and Singapore.
Last year, Johor secured RM70.6 billion worth of foreign investments across various sectors, with Singapore being a significant contributor to the state’s foreign direct investment in manufacturing.
