Charity Tournament Bad Kleinkirchheim – 28 June 2025

Under a clear early summer sky, around one hundred invited golfers gathered at the Bad Kleinkirchheim Golf Arena in Carinthia on 28 June 2025 to combine sporting ambition with social responsibility.

Rödl & Partner was not only a sponsor, but also actively represented on the tee: in a harmonious four player flight (two ladies, two gentlemen), I unfortunately only managed a scorecard just above my personal handicap, but this was still enough for a place in the upper midfield. The sporting atmosphere was enhanced by numerous prominent starters, led by Olympic skiing champion Franz Klammer, whose home town is just a few kilometres away. The field of participants was rounded off by active members of the Austrian ice hockey league and national team, as well as guests from the press, business and consulting from Austria and Germany.

The charity aspect was the focus of the event. All entry fees and proceeds from the evening auction – which included Carinthian bacon, vintage wines and designer traditional costumes – went to SOS Children's Villages Austria. Thanks to generous bids, including our contribution of €1,000, a record sum of almost €10,000  was raised for children in need. The dinner that followed provided an opportunity to talk to the chairman of SOS Children's Villages Austria about ways of financing youth welfare projects. In 2023, the organisation supported over 3,900 children, young people and families in long-term programmes in Austria alone.
