Economic Outlook

PrintMailRate-it

While the economy of Thailand continued to contract in the third quarter of 2021, the setback was less severe than initially expected. Overall, the analysts are shifting to an optimistic outlook, citing the easing of restrictions, falling cases, increasing vaccination rates, and the re-opening, which commenced on 1 November.

Some analysts predict a strong rebound in the fourth quarter of 2021, as well as in 2022.

However, they have been careful with predictions, as a renewed outbreak (and therefore renewed restrictions) might change the economic situation. The bottom line though is that there are increasing signs of an economic recovery in Thailand.
