Presentation Market Entry in the United Arab Emirates: German companies visit Rödl & Partner Dubai

In May 2022, a group of German entrepreneurs led by cooperation partner Andre Löffler from ServSol Management Consultancy LLC visited Rödl & Partner's offices in Dubai. In the course of a lecture, the head of the branch office, Derya Bandak, and Sebastian Luermann, attorney at law, informed the participants about the legal requirements for entering the market in the United Arab Emirates.

 
    
The event focused on the basic conditions for direct investments within the national territory or one of the free trade zones of the United Arab Emirates.
 
In addition to the presentation of the basic advantages and disadvantages of establishing a company in one of the numerous free trade zones, the presentation included in particular tax considerations, predominantly with reference to direct investments from a German perspective. Particularly due to the corporate income tax that is expected to come into force in 2023, these considerations with regard to a possible tax-optimized investment opportunity met with lively interest from the participants.
 

Other weighty topics such as the acquisition of real estate, the protection of assets located in the UAE under inheritance law, labor and residence law or the increasingly important data protection law were also part of the presentation.
 

During the subsequent breakfast buffet, the participants intensively discussed further (tax) legal topics, such as the acquisition of cryptocurrency within the UAE, in exchange with the Rödl & Partner team in Dubai.
