As you may have read in the press and news since the weekend, there is a problem in the so-called Java stack due to bad programming, which currently leads to a very critical situation in the worldwide IT and Internet. The so-called Java stack is used in many software systems of applications as well as in hardware, which is controlled by software.

The vulnerability occurs in Log4j, has the same name and is currently being exploited by cyber criminals on a global scale. Many manufacturers of software and hardware are affected, as well as companies worldwide that use the products of the affected manufacturers.

The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) is issuing a clear warning about the security vulnerability and is calling on companies to take immediate countermeasures.

We are currently examining all systems at Rödl & Partner for a possible compromise and will update affected servers and applications with the necessary updates and patches as soon as they are made available by the manufacturers.

As we take the security of your data extremely seriously, we have decided to take systems offline for which there is neither a patch nor any other protection strategy against this vulnerability.

If you are unable to access your data as usual, please contact your Rödl & Partner representative directly.
