Since the school year 2012/2013, so-called band classes have been offered at the secondary school Konrad-Groß-Mittelschule in Nuremberg. During music lessons, 5th and 6th grade students attending all-day classes play music in two bands in each class. The children practice songs and play the guitar, drums, bass and keyboard or sing. The bands also perform at school events or during festivals in the city district.

The primary aim of the "Klasse im Puls" project is to teach children basic music skills in a practical yet playful way. But the real benefit is much greater. The children learn willingness to make an effort, develop team spirit and build up self-confidence. Playing an instrument by heart, singing into a microphone or performing on stage poses challenges to the children that support their development.

Thanks to the donation of the Rödl Employee Fund for Children’s Aid the "Klasse im Puls" music lessons can be continued also in the current school year. No government aid is available for the project. It therefore relies on donations. The donation will finance further music lessons and, thus, enable the children to continue playing in the bands.
