Golden Visa in Uzbekistan: New opportunities for investors and high-net-worth individuals From June 1, 2025, Uzbekistan will introduce a "Golden Visa" program that offers foreign investors and high-net-worth individuals the opportunity to obtain a five-year residence permit in return for investments. The aim of this initiative is to attract capital and promote the country's economic growth.

In order to obtain a “golden visa”, a foreigner must invest 250,000 US dollars in the Uzbek economy. In addition, each family member (spouse, children or parents) must make a contribution of 150,000 US dollars. These funds can be invested in companies, real estate or national projects, thus contributing to the development of various sectors of the economy.

Benefits of the program:
  • Simplified procedure for issuing a residence permit:
The Golden Visa procedure promises to be faster and less bureaucratic, which makes it attractive to foreign investors.
  • Duration:
The residence permit is issued for five years and can be extended.
  • Attracting capital:
The program aims to increase the inflow of capital into the Uzbek economy, which will contribute to the development and modernization of the country.
Golden visa programs are already being used successfully in several countries such as Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, Canada and the USA. They offer the possibility of obtaining a residence permit or citizenship in return for investment. However, some countries such as the United Kingdom and Spain have abandoned these programs due to risks to national security and corruption.

The introduction of the “golden visa” in Uzbekistan is an ambitious step towards the international practice of “residence for investment”. This program opens up new opportunities for foreign investors and wealthy individuals who wish to contribute to the development of the Uzbek economy and obtain a residence permit. The Uzbek authorities hope that this initiative will lead to significant capital inflows and further stimulate economic growth.
