Energy efficiency and contracting

Climate change will only become manageable if the tendency to consume more energy is stopped and reversed through the saving of energy. In particular as a result of European legislation (e.g. the directive on energy efficiency) a separate market for energy services has emerged with a specific legal framework. Contracting services, district heating systems and concepts for the reduction of primary energy consumption are especially important here. These are being further developed taking information and communications technology into account with measurement, load management and other services designed to save delivered energy. At the same time with regard to developments in the European Union and neighbouring European countries further and partly novel regulatory measures and instruments will shortly be introduced.
