As companies cope with the impacts of digitalisation and VUCA times*, permanent transformations that allow companies to tackle rapidly changing markets and other modern business challenges will become inevitable.

* VUCA is an acronym of the terms volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.

 

In response to these hurdles, strategic questions are increasingly more important for businesses to answer: How can we keep pace with these changes? What does this kind of change mean for companies and decision-makers?

Even though the reasons for transformation projects can be very different, they all have a common goal: to efficiently set up the corporate structure for the future. It is advisable to build up internal or external resources specifically in the areas of transformation and, as far as possible, restructuring. In addition to internal challenges, successful transformation managers also keep an eye on market-side changes, such as new regulations, geopolitical events, digitalisation or competitive situations. Transformations are often the result of an upstream M&A transaction, and the course for successful corporate transformations is set in the so-called post-merger phase.
